The artwork
Every mark on this site comes from game-icons.net, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licence. All of them have been altered: stripped of the black ground they are published on, and recoloured to the palette of these pages.
The heart tree — standing behind the wordmark on the front page, and in the card this site shows when a link to it is shared — is the Dead wood icon by Lorc. It has been re-cropped as well, so the crown clears the top of the page and the roots come to rest on the section boxes.
The carved face — watching from the browser tab, and standing at the left of the bar on every page — is the Tree face icon by Cathelineau.
The glyph on the greensight — the door to the graph, on every page and at the foot of every entry — is the Mesh network icon by Delapouite.
The mark on a tag — in the bar of a tag page, and standing behind its title — is the Grouped drops icon by Lorc. One falling apart into many is what a tag is: a cut across the sections rather than a place inside one.
And each of the ten sections of the archive keeps a mark of its own, in the bar above the page and standing behind the title of everything filed there:

The site
Built on Quartz v5 by Jacky Zhao and contributors, released under the MIT licence.
Set in Cinzel for headings, EB Garamond for prose, and IBM Plex Mono for the ledger voice — the metadata boxes, the breadcrumbs, and the credit bar at the foot of every page. All three are open licensed and served by Google Fonts.
The histories
The histories themselves are from the one and only George R. R. Martin. The articles here are my own summaries and commentary. Where passages are quoted directly, they’re attributed to its book and chapter.
